Mid Sweden University

Geographically, Mid Sweden University is located in the middle of Sweden, right at the heart of northern Europe. It is a young university, but its roots go back more than 150 years, to 1842.

Today, Mid Sweden University has campuses in Sundsvall and Östersund, with approximately 13 000 students. About 60 percent are campus students, while the rest engage in distance education via web-based courses and programmes.

The institution offers programmes in close collaboration with local regional trade and industry, such as the outdoor industry in Sweden’s top downhill center, Åre. The partnership with research and business ensures an authentic education which is of benefit to society and also gives students a competitive edge on the global market

One of the main characteristics of Mid Sweden University is the combination of the intimacy of a small college and the educational variety and resources offered by a large university. At Mid Sweden University, there is close contact between students and teachers and no one runs the risk of getting lost in the crowd.
