About Umeå University

– A bachelor’s degree (180 credits) in Business Administration:

– 75 credits in Business Administration at Basic level [A-level] and Intermediate level [B-level]

– a minimum of 60 credits in Management, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, or the equivalent including at least 7,5 credits in Accounting and 7,5 credits in Finance.

– at the Bachelor level [C-level], a minimum of 15 credits in Business Administration.

– IELTS: minimum score 6.5 with no individual score below 5.5 (equivalent to English course B/6)*

  • A minimum of 75 credits in Computer Science
  • A minimum of 22.5 credits in Mathematics including a course that mediates basic logic skills.
  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge and skills regarding algorithms and data structures, programming in different programming languages such as Java and C++. Courses on the theoretical foundations of Computer Science comprising at least 7.5 ECTS credits. Exclusively theoretical knowledge in programming and software design does not provide a sufficient basis for the programme.

*GENERAL ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:

You are considered to meet High level English proficiency requirements (equivalent to English course B/6 from Swedish upper Secondary School) if you have:

  • IELTS: minimum score 6.5 with no individual score below 5.5
  • At least two years of university studies in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a university where English is the only language of instruction, according to the latest edition of International Handbook of Universities.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (a Swedish Kandidatexamen or equivalent academic qualifications) with English as the major subject.
  • Have a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Natural Science or Technology from India or Pakistan.

 

You can satisfy lower level English proficiency retirement (equivalent to English course A/5 from Swedish Upper Secondary School) if:

  • You have IELTS: minimum score 5.5 with no individual score below 5.0
  • You have completed a minimum of two years of studies at an accredited university or college with English as the medium of instruction. There are some exemptions to this rule.
  • You have completed one year of graduate studies and have written your thesis in English.
