Linköping University (LiU), established in 1975 is one of the larger universities in Sweden. It has an innovative structure consisting of four very broad faculties: Medicine and Health Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Educational Sciences and the Institute of Technology.

Bachelor level

1. BA in Experimental and Industrial Biomedicine

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

– HSC diploma with Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology corresponding to the level in Swedish upper secondary education (Chemistry 2, Mathematic 4 and Biology 2)

Master level

1. MSc in Computer Science

The programme offers five specialisations:

  • Visualisation and Computer Graphics
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining
  • Computer Networks, Distributed Systems and Security
  • Embedded Systems
  • Programming and Software Methods.

Duration: 2 years (120 credits)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

– A bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, information technology, software engineering, computer engineering,

– alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with a minor in computer science or related subject area, with a minimum of 60 ECTS credits in computer-related subjects (e.g. programming, data structures, databases, software engineering, computer hardware, computer networks).

The Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen) shall be from an internationally recognised university. The university has to be listed in the latest edition of the International Handbook of Universities (http://www.iau-aiu.net/).

– At least 24 ECTS credits in mathematics/applied mathematics and/or application of mathematics relevant for the programme including courses in discrete mathematics, linear algebra, calculus and mathematical statistics.

– 20 ECTS credits in mathematics/applied mathematics and/or applications of mathematics relevant for the programme, including courses in calculus, linear algebra, probability, transform methods

– Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen within Business Administration or Economics or a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen with/and at least 60 ECTS (two semesters of full-time study) of Business Administration-related courses (for example Accounting, Marketing, Organization Theory, Strategy, Finance, HRM).

To meet the language requirements you need to privie a proof of proficiency in English document in one of the following ways:

  • IELTS: overall score of 6.5 and no section below 5.5 (equivalent to English course B/6)
  • A certificate or letter from your university if you have:
    • At least 60 credits with English as the language of instruction from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
    • At least 60 credits with English as the language of instruction from USA, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, or English speaking parts of Canada. These credits cannot be from a preparatory programme, or introductory level English courses.

 

  • A formal university transcript or degree certificate for a Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen) where it is clearly stated that the language of instruction for the programme
  • A Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen) from a university where English is the only language of instruction. University must be listed as only providing instruction in English in the edition of the International Handbook of Universities or the World Directory of Medical Schools that was current the year the degree was awarded.
  • Completed 1-year degree at the master’s level or higher from a university where English is the only language of instruction. The university must be listed as only providing instruction in English in the edition of the International Handbook of Universities that was current the year the degree was awarded.
  • A 3-year bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen) from the following countries meet the English requirement: Botswana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen) in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Medicine, Pharmacy, Natural Sciences or Technology unless it is documented that the language of instruction for the programme was a language other than English.
  • A 1-year preparatory class in English at a university (applies only to Turkish students)
